PhD Position in Economics

The research group in Political Economics (Prof. Alois Stutzer) of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Basel invites applications for a PhD position.

Our group explores and teaches how to deal with economic and social issues based on a constitutional economic understanding of political economy. In doing so, we provide new insights that incorporate a behavioral economic perspective and emphasize the great potential of a comparative institutional analysis of human well-being.

Start date: February 1, 2025 (or by agreement)

Your position

The successful candidate will pursue high-level scientific research and support the group in their teaching activities.

Your profile

You are on your way to or already have a Master's degree in economics (or a related field of study) with a strong academic record. You bring interest and enthusiasm for questions in the fields of political economics, applied microeconomics, and economics and psychology. You have acquired some skills in econometrics and have already gained some experience in empirical research. And you bring with you a good knowledge of English and German.
